I am the most renowned professional recorder player in Finland, having performed as a soloist with more than ten Finnish symphony orchestras. In addition to recorder playing, I am also skilled in saxophone playing, singing, and conducting, all of which are part of my musical repertoire. For nearly 20 years, I have been a recorder player with the Presidential Orchestra The Guards Band of Helsinki, and since 2008, I have been teaching at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki.

As a recorder soloist, I have had the privilege of collaborating with several esteemed conductors, including John Storgårds and Dima Slobodeniouk. I have premiered over 40 works, among which the notable recorder concertos by Kalevi Aho (2021), Jouni Hirvelä (2018), Jukka Tiensuu (2017), and Juha Piston (2011) stand out. A recording of Aho's concerto, made in collaboration with the international record label BIS, is set to be released in September 2023. Furthermore, I have served as the leader for the school concert series of the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, and in spring 2023, I made my conducting debut with the Vaasa City Orchestra. I have also provided assistance to symphony orchestras on both of my instruments.

As an active chamber musician, I have an extensive performance history at Finnish festivals as well as abroad. I am a member of the saxophone quartet Aava, where I play the baritone saxophone, and I am also part of the street jazz band Tusan Brass. In addition, I collaborate with various musicians as a recorder player. Within the realm of popular music, I work with Kaartin Combo, a band known for their performances at the Independence Day reception, and I contribute as both a vocalist and saxophonist to other musical groups.

My recorder playing can be heard in films, computer games, and on my personal YouTube channel, where I share additional information about the recorder and the life of a musician. I am proud to be a founding member of the Finnish Recorder Society, where I have held the position of chairman for 15 years.

Regarding my education, I pursued my studies at the Sibelius Academy, where I obtained a Master's degree in music in 2010. During my time there, I completed diploma studies for both of my instruments. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to participate in numerous international masterclasses, studying under esteemed professors such as Dan Laurin and Claude Delangle. I also achieved academic honors in my education studies at the University of Helsinki. Throughout my career, I have received support from various foundations and funds, enabling me to pursue my passion as a musician.
